Participants
For the first time in history, a Tiger Meet was hosted by the French Navy, Aéronautique Navale Francaise, at BAN Landivisiau in 2008. Landivisiau is the home base of the fast jet aircraft of the French Navy, the Super Étendard and the new Rafale M. Because of the navy influence, the 2008 NATO Tiger Meet was called 'Ocean Tiger'.

Besides the usual suspects like the French Mirage 2000 from Cambrai, F-16's from Belgium, Norway and the Netherlands, German Tornado's from Schleswig-Jagel and Lechfeld, Swiss F-18's and Spanish Mirage F1's, there were also (almost) new participants or planes, like the Austrian Saab 105Ö, Czech Republic Gripen, Spanish F-18 and Rafale's from the French Navy and Air Force (Mont de Marsan). The Czech Republic Mi-24 Hind's are a common sight nowadays at Tiger Meets, but not the same can be said about Royal Air Force Puma's. The Royal Navy Merlin and Italian Air Force AB.212 were totally new participants, unfortunately I didn't got both planes in front of my camera...

On the last day of the exercise an spotter day was organized. I started the day near the taxi- and runway, but spent the afternoon at the ramps, where the photo opportunities were way better and more interesting. Two missions were flown this day, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. During the day participants for the air show arrived and also some displays were rehearsed. As usual for Brittany, the weather changed a lot during the day.

Enjoy the photo report on the following pages and afterwards you can also take a look at the report of the air show of two days later!
