St.-Dizier Alpha Jets
July the first 2005 was the last operational day of the Armée de l'air Jaguars. A couple of days earlier I visited with a delegation of Spotting Group Volkel St.-Dizier to see the French Sepecat Jaguars for the last time. During the last week EC.01.007 operated 6 Jaguars: 4 singles, 2 duals. Besides the Jaguars EC.01.007 also had 5 Alpha Jets in its inventory.

During this day there were still a lot of Jaguar flying activities. Also the Alpha Jets were very active, one of them came from Tours. Other visitors were two Mirage 2000N's. The organisation had made a small static, consisting of the E22 Jaguar E with its beautiful special colour scheme and a Jaguar A which presented all its armament options. Also the Mirage IVA, F-84F and two Jaguar gate guards were visited.

In 2006 EC.01.007 will re enter service with 5 single seated and 15 dual seated Rafale's for tactical operations. After seven years out of service EC.02.007 will be reformed in 2008 with 20 Rafale's with a nuclear task.

I want to thank the base commander and public relations office of St.-Dizier and the personnel of EC.01.007 for making this very good last farewell to the Armée de l'air Jaguars possible.
